query_revision fails to return commit id
Reported by Michael Irwin | May 7th, 2008 @ 07:45 AM
Using 2.3.0, the changes made to query_revision in commit ec9a7fa52c9f417a9a01a7e764b520be1ec32c5c fails to return a commit id, at least in some situations. Reverting the changes from that commit fixes the issue. The specific repo I'm seeing this on is a private repo hosted at GitHub.

I switched back to version 2.2.0
everything works fine again.
May be somebody has a hint,... it may also be only a setting issue.

this should be fixed by the revert of #6 - it's because the '--tags' addition to the fetch was making it not get new commits.
